Precept of Parenting

Precept of Parenting

Do you know that 90% of the child’s brain is developed between the age of 0 to 12 years? Do you know learning of a child starts right inside the mother’s womb? Do you know that an infant can grasp things better when it is asleep? These and many such crucial facts are to be taken care of for the better development of a child’s brain.

Most of the beliefs in an individual are developed during the first quarter of his life that is up to the age of 12 years which means the initial 1/4th portion of a human life plays a pivotal role in determining what an individual would be during the rest 3/4th portion of his/her life. But unfortunately most parents fail to acknowledge this and end up bringing up a child with mediocre development and lesser resources necessary for growing intellectually.

Human brain functions around four patterns known as brainwave patterns.

Delta – Brainwave pattern of sleeping adults and infants

Theta – Brainwave pattern that is most creative and imaginative and that’s when best ideas are generated. This is the brainwave pattern of children between age 2 to 6.

Alpha – Brainwave pattern useful while focusing on something. Children between age 6 to 12 are in constant Alpha state of mind.

Beta – Fully aware and functional adult brain after the age of 12 that remains regular brain posture for rest of our lives.

Parents need to take the advantage of Theta and Alpha brainwave patterns that children are in between the age of 2 to 12 years by providing them an environment and surrounding that is harmonious to their growth because whatever they feel and believe during this age is what will be the Beta pattern for the rest of their lives.

Things parents should do, over and above the archaic methods of upbringing.

· Make an effort to develop reading habit in a child by reading bedtime stories and subscribing to children libraries wherein children are made abreast of different books, mind games, stories that increase their logical reasoning and lateral thinking. Quoting the words of Adora Svitak, a child prodigy who reportedly finishes 2 to 3 books a day, ‘Reading allows you to grow, and grow beyond the world around you.’ Reading is the ultimate bequest one can give to the child.

· Increase child’s exposure with the help of alternate education system. Now a days alternate education resources are available over and above the archetype schooling system which endeavor to develop creativity, reasoning, logical thinking, vocabulary building, aptitude, communication skills, lateral thinking etc., and keeps child apprised and a step above average thinking patterns. According to the American psychologist and educator, Edward Lee Thorndike, originator of modern educational psychology, “Despite rapid progress in the right direction, the program of the average elementary school has been primarily devoted to teaching the fundamental subjects, the three R’s, and closely related disciplines… Artificial exercises, like drills on phonetics, multiplication tables, and formal writing movements, are used to a wasteful degree. Subjects such as arithmetic, language, and history include content that is intrinsically of little value. Nearly every subject is enlarged unwisely to satisfy the academic ideal of thoroughness… Elimination of the unessential by scientific study, then, is one step in improving the curriculum."

· Inculcate the importance of Goal setting. The major demerit of current education is the failure of the system to demonstrate the importance of goal setting in one’s life. The principle reason of our mediocrity is we take life as it comes instead of consciously architecting the path ourselves. It’s a tragedy that most of the people are not able to express what they actually want even at the medial stage of their lives. Adults complete their post graduation in various fields from reputed universities in the quest of good and highly paid jobs only to find later this isn’t their field of expertise and ultimately carrying the burden of regret and remorse for the rest of their lives.

· Build up strong emotional intelligence and confidence within a child. This can be done by making it feel the importance of itself. Explaining them the importance of faith, courage and belief in the power of dreams. According to Ms. S. Jose, teacher in a reputed school, “Children, like anyone else, require respect, space and a modicum of privacy. Modeling democracy, tolerance and fairness in all one's dealings with children help lay groundwork of solid character and self-worth. The sad part is that, our children are a voiceless majority in any community. A strong emotional bond with parents and guardians based on trust and openness is essential to the fostering of a healthy, whole child.”

· Give precise answers to their questions. “Why?” is the child’s favorite question and powerful method of enquiring on things. Vague answers will only breed more ambiguity within a child’s mind.

Things parents should never do to children.

· Never to belittle them nor shattering their confidence by talking in negation. Parent’s conversation with the child should always be in the affirmative. More use of negative words like no, don’t, cannot, impossible would bring more negativity into the child’s conversation with itself within its mind.

· Never to pass on the adversities of a situation onto the children. Its not their age to live under the burden of adult’s problems. Problematic surrounding inhibits child’s ability to creative thinking and imagination.

Its high time parents understand that levitating or desultory upbringing can prove to be fatal to the child’s process of evolution. Conscious planning and painstaking efforts is what is needed to build up a brighter future for the child. Lets coslesce into a powerful group to metamorphose in the traditional methods of parenting.

For a Confused Girl Like Me!!!!!!!!!!

This piece of writing dedicated to those girls, who like me want to do so much in life but for whom the path is very confused and uncertain.

In this century we are so much bombarded by the options and choices available that we get confused which option is the best for us or probably which option will make us happy for happiness is the ultimate pleasure of life. This also makes us difficult in choosing as to what is that which pleases my heart. And to add fuel to the fire, todays generation is living with a disease called boredom. Yes thats the word ''DISEASE''. It would seem stupid to call boredom as disease but believe me its really a disease. DISEASE mean Dis-Ease, anything with which we are not at ease. And boredom is something which makes us uneasy.

And guys mind well boredom is not caused only when we have nothing to do, but boredom also occurs when we have so much to do but we don't have time to do and just by thinking and worrying about shortage of time we do nothing and lay up wasting our entire weekend and than lamenting at night '' we could do something better to make our day better''. This guilt of not utilizing the weekend productively affects your entire week. You don't work properly at your office, things move in haphazard ways, their is no plan of work or action and your precious 84 hours are gone (Assuming you work 12 hours a day 7*12=84).

And readers this is not to afraid you but believe me boredom creates frustration and anger which ultimately spoils your relations with loved ones. Your boredom can make your loved one frustrated which in turn passes on to the environment around and people with whom they are associated. And ultimately this boredom pictures you as a boring personality in eyes of others which might cause you to loose your friendship.

A simple example of myself to share with you. I am a kind of person who has hobbies of varied types. I want to learn fengshui, probably make a career in it, do PhD on stock market technical and fundamental analysis, want to learn Healing and Tarot, write blogs, socialise on facebook, watch movies, surf on internet, go for shopping, click photos and much much more. Obviously i cant do all at once. You can understand how difficult it is. All these options annoyed me so much that i passed many weekends in frustration and doing nothing when i could have done very well by doing one thing at a time. Remember food is consumed morsel by morsel and not at once.

But now i have learnt that Rome was not built in a day. Similarly the things you want to achieve in life are achieved one by one so that you enjoy the process of achievement one by one giving ultimate satisfaction to your soul

And guys their is a good news. You can remove your boredom and work energetically the entire week which can also impress your boss :). You know how that can be done? Just consciously mind well consciously, try to live your sat and sunday energetically accomplishing all that you cant during weekdays. Enjoy your hobbies, go out for shopping, increase your knowledge on that day and you will see how the entire week goes in a planned way making you happy inside. I emphasize on the word consciously because at first it will be difficult to apply it since we are used to spend our sundays in front of 29'' Idiot box with remote in our hands surfing channels and listening to whats going on in others lives. But hey its time to improve your life. Isnt it.

One simple thing to begin with is develop a reading hobby. Guys its a proven formula for success. A mere reading can take you to that level you cant think of.

So spend your weekends by spreading lot of energies around. Take care and keep watching secret by gunjan at blogspot.com

BOOK REVIEWS

Hi everybody. Sorry for taking a break in writing. Since many days i was thinking what to write in blog, how to make it more interesting for others to read and for myself to continue writing. So i have thought i would start writing some beautiful lines and writings from the books that i am currently reading. This will have a two fold benefits. One, it would be a good source of book review for people who love to read and Second, it would increase my understanding and my capability to apply those good things mentioned in books, in my actual life.

Currently i am reading a book called "How to stop worrying and start living" by Dale Carnegie. It is the book for those who WORRY TOO MUCH in their lives. Some of the lines from the book are as below.
CHAPTER 9 COOPERATE WITH THE INEVITABLE
An inscription on the ruins of a fifteenth century cathedral in Amsterdam says "It is so. It cannot be otherwise."
As you and i march across the decades of time, we are going to meet a lot of unpleasant situations that are so. They cannot be otherwise. We have our choice. We can either accept them as inevitable and adjust ourselves to them, or we can ruin our lives with rebellion and maybe end up with a nervous breakdown.
"Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune." ( if my ipru colleagues are reading it, the best example for cooperate with inevitable is the OFFICE SCANNING problem faced by us.)

Obviously circumstances alone do not make us happy or unhappy. It is the way we react to circustances that determines our feelings. Jesus said that the kindgom of heaven is within you. That is where the kingdom of hell is, too.

The priceless prayer by Dr. Reinhold Niebuhr.
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things i cannot change,
The courage to change the things i can;
And the wisdom to know the difference.

TAROT Today

Hi Friends,
I am extremely excited to tell you, that i have decided to share my TAROT readings with you daily. So guys and gals if you are interested do read it and pls post your comments so that i can improve in my explanation methods of TAROT to you.

Pls read below the basics rationale of TAROT
The origin of the tarot is a mystery. We do know for sure that the cards were used in Italy in the fifteenth century as a popular card game. Wealthy patrons commissioned beautiful decks, some of which have survived. The Visconti-Sforza, created in 1450 or shortly thereafter, is one of the earliest and most complete. Later in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the cards were discovered by a number of influential scholars of the occult. These gentleman were fascinated by the tarot and recognized that the images on the cards were more powerful than a simple game would suggest. They revealed (or created!) the "true" history of the tarot by connecting the cards to Egyptian mysteries, Hermetic philosophy, the Kabbalah, alchemy, and other mystical systems. These pursuits continued into the early part of the twentieth century when the tarot was incorporated into the practices of several secret societies, including the Order of the Golden Dawn
The tarot is most commonly viewed as a tool for divination. A traditional tarot reading involves a seeker - someone who is looking for answers to personal questions - and a reader - someone who knows how to interpret the cards. After the seeker has shuffled and cut the deck, the reader lays out the chosen cards in a pattern called a spread. Each position in the spread has a meaning, and each card has a meaning as well. The reader combines these two meanings to shed light on the seeker's question.

We may never know the full range and power of the unconscious, but there are ways to explore its landscape. Many techniques have been developed for this purpose - psychotherapy, dream interpretation, visualization and meditation. The tarot is another such tool.
Projection is one reason why the tarot cards are valuable. Their intriguing pictures and patterns are effective in tapping the unconscious. This is the personal aspect of the tarot, but the cards also have a collective component. As humans, we all have certain common needs and experiences. The images on the tarot cards capture these universal moments and draw them out consistently. People tend to react to the cards in similar ways because they represent archetypes. Over many centuries, the tarot has evolved into a collection of the most basic patterns of human thought and emotion.

When we do a tarot reading, we select certain cards by shuffling, cutting and dealing the deck. Although this process seems random, we still assume the cards we pick are special. This is the point of a tarot reading after all - to choose the cards we are meant to see. Now, common sense tells us that cards chosen by chance can't hold any special meaning, or can they?
To answer this question, let's look at randomness more closely. Usually we say that an event is random when it appears to be the result of the chance interaction of mechanical forces. From a set of possible outcomes - all equally likely - one occurs, but for no particular reason.
This definition includes two key assumptions about random events: they are the result of mechanical forces, and they have no meaning. First, no tarot reading is solely the product of mechanical forces. It is the result of a long series of conscious actions. We decide to study the tarot. We buy a deck and learn how to use it. We shuffle and cut the cards in a certain way at a certain point. Finally, we use our perceptions to interpret the cards.
At every step, we are actively involved. Why then are we tempted to say a reading is "the chance interaction of mechanical forces?" Because we can't explain just how our consciousness is involved. We know our card choices aren't deliberate, so we call them random. In fact, could there be a deeper mechanism at work, one connected to the power of our unconscious? Could our inner states be tied to outer events in a way that we don't yet fully understand? I hold this possibility out to you.
The other feature of a random event is that it has no inherent meaning. I roll a die and get a six, but there is no purpose to this result. I could just as easily roll a one, and the meaning would be the same - or would it? Do we really know these two outcomes are equal? Perhaps there is meaning and purpose in every event, great or small, but we don't always recognize it.

Guys tomorrow we will learn about cards. Till than tak care. Good bye.

Secret Poem

I bargained with Life for a penny
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.
